I don't know if this is the type of post we are supposed to make, but this video is SO FUNNY. "Sh*t Opera Singers Say". This popped up on my twitter feed because I creepily follow an amazing tenor I saw in IU's La Boheme and he tweeted it. Since there are so many singers in our class I thought I'd post it! I think we can all relate to some or most of the things they make fun of.
This is so great! My favorite part is "Yogurt?" "No, I have a recital in, like, four months."

ReplyDeleteI loved this video! Even though its stereotypes, it still is very true for a lot of people I know. All through high school I knew many MANY people who acted exactly like this! Especially the "Wait... Are you sick?!" thing. Which I admit I do actually do... I think this video is a great way to spread some humor among people who maybe don't know opera very well. It shows people that we can be very funny and have a lighter side and are not alway the stereotypical stuck up opera singers. I loved this video!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the video Julie! It is totally hilarious, but it totally brought up the real situation I am facing right now. Since I started my voice training, I got all these questions - and they are all appearing in the video. To be honest, I wish I know more about singing, or how answer all these questions. Very often, I felt bad of not knowing how to answer them. But seriously, I really love the parts of "I AM PRACTICING!" as well as "WHERE'S MY TEA?" I cracked up *whisper* because that happens to be too!
